Ideas and conversations swirl around and, slowly, begin landing on sketchpads and computer screens.
Big machinery appears, loads of material are delivered, and neighbors take note!
This bespoke home in the foothills of the Sierra was a labor of love. A thirty-plus month endeavor with each and every detail obsessed over and decided upon.
An array of exterior finishes from hand-swirled slate roofing tiles to mesh and mica lighting fixtures, fine textured stucco to variations of stained beams all take their color and texture cues from the stone surround.
Crossing over the dry creek bridge, and once through the custom Entry door, crystal droplets fall from the demi-lune soffit, echoing the sweep of the piano loft staircase. Their organic lines play against the structure of the Entry. Exposed beams pierce into walls only to re-emerge across the room. Motorized drapery of a silk velvet, the color of mink, set the scene for an evening of entertainment or a family night of gaming. LaCantina doors sweep aside so living can spill outdoors to the fire-pit, grilling area, and view of a private putting green beyond.
This Kitchen boasts two zones with an enviable Pantry beyond. And the Dining area is crowned by three crystal laden “eyes.”
Details continue with a personal Hollywood Walk-of-Fame outside the Home Theatre with more stars around the corner. Precision seaming of glass hexes in one secondary bath, while the glint of stainless-steel penny rounds accents another. Not shown are the Meditation and Exercise Rooms, a spiral staircase leading to a private Reading Loft, separate His and Her Home Offices, a Mud Room specific for the family’s pooch and charging stations at each of the three garages. The Craft Room is topped off by artistic lighting fixtures purchased by the client during a recent trip to Spain. Their color and mobile-like quality are the perfect pairing for this creative space. And what a nice way to evoke pleasant memories!
